1Heat cooking oil in a pan. Fry the tofu cubes until golden brown and crispy. Set aside.
2In the same pan, sauté the onions and garlic until fragrant. Add the sili and cook for a minute or two.
3Add the calamansi juice, soy sauce, and patis. Stir well and let it simmer for a few minutes.
4Add the crispy tofu cubes to the pan. Gently toss to coat everything in the sauce. Season with ground black pepper.

Press the tofu well to remove excess water for extra crispy results, charot! Don't overcook the tofu or it will become mushy. Adjust the amount of sili according to your spice preference, girl!
